The weirdo behind the art
Hi, I'm Harper Blarper
A little goblinesk, poor postured chaos factory making art that's too loud, too colorful, and absolutely perfect for people who refuse to be boring.
How it all started
From the moment I could hold a pencil growing up in England, I was teaching myself how to draw. Art was my whole world.. until school made it a subject. By the time I finished sixth form (ages 17–18), the grades and critiques had completely sucked the joy out of it for me, and I didn't pick it back up seriously for many, many years.
These days I'm a mom of two wonderfully chaotic ADHD/autistic kids, and I've got my own alphabet soup going on. ADHD, Autism, and a handful of other things that make me who I am. I'm disabled, proudly part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I make art that reflects all of that. I'm loud, bright, strange and a little rough around the edges.
Every piece I make is an attempt to bottle that feeling, the feeling of being unapologetically yourself, be loud, be proud and be WEIRD
How I make stuff
Sketch the chaos
Every piece starts in a sketch, fueled by nothing but caffeine, sleep deprivation and pure vibes.
Go full color
Digital coloring is where the magic happens. I push every color to it's limit. Subtlety is not invited.
Add the sparkle
Final touches: outlines, glitter effects, sticker style borders. This is the part where it becomes unmistakably Harpy Blarpy.
Print & ship
Everything is printed on quality materials and packed with love (and probably some confetti).
What I believe in
Joy is valid
Art doesn't have to be serious to be meaningful. Happiness is a legitimate artistic pursuit.
Weird is wonderful
The strange, the loud, the unexpected... these are features, not bugs.
Color is power
A well placed rainbow can change someone's entire day. I take that responsibility seriously.
Ready to get weird?
Come hang out in the shop. There's something in there for every flavor of human.. and none human.
